Know Your Worth: How to Be A High-Impact Systems Change RDN
The dietetics profession is at an inflection point. Medical nutrition therapy is being validated as a therapeutic intervention with a return of $3 to $4 for every dollar invested, comparable in clinical impact to adding a second-line diabetes medication. Reimbursement models are shifting. Food as Medicine is moving from niche to mainstream. And yet, too many registered dietitian nutritionists are underestimating what their career can become. This session pulls back the curtain on what it actually looks like to build a nontraditional career at the intersection of systems change, coalition leadership, and community health. Through the lens of an RDN-led population-level program reaching more than 19,000 campus employees and over one million patients and visitors annually, attendees will see what coalition-building, Food as Medicine programming, and institutional partnership look like in practice and at scale. This is not a talk about surviving your RDN career. It is a talk about building one that earns what your expertise is worth.
